On the evening before a very powerful new Moon in cancer, I thought I would write about the magnitude of this event.

The new moon happens at 3:14 AM EST (8:14 AM Universal Time) on July 8, 2013. There is both numerological as well as astrological significance to this event.

Let’s take a look at the numerology first.

We are in a 13 Universal Month as well as a 13th year of the century. 13 reduces to 4
The new moon is on an 8 day.
If you reduce the time (3+1+4) to a single root number it equals 8 or 13 for the universal time (8+1+4)

The Ancient Chaldeans indicated the numbers 4 and 8, especially when combined, are known as the “Numbers of Fate” and the “Numbers of Karma” and “fateful” events can occur.

The Number 4 represents individualism, originality, inventiveness, and tolerance. 4 is the number of unconventional behavior and sudden, unexpected events.

If you look at the number 4, it looks like a triangle with a straight line. The triangle represents the Body/Mind/Spirit of creation and the vertical line grounds your ideas/goals/creation into reality through discipline and and a systematic approach to work.

The number 8 looks like the infinity symbol and represents abundance and leadership. 8 is also the number of wisdom, learning through experience, stability, patience, and responsibility.

13 is a number of upheaval, so that new ground may be broken. It’s associated with power, which, if used for selfish purpose, will bring destruction upon itself. There is a warning of the unknown and the unexpected. Adapting to change gracefully will bring out the strength of the l3 vibration, and decrease any potential for negative.

Now let’s take a look at the astrology chart for this new moon….

The new moon in Cancer happens at 16 degrees. In my July 2013 Forecast, I mentioned the new moon in Cancer forms a powerful square with Pluto/Uranus square.

New Moon in Cancer
Furthermore, the Sun (conjunct the Moon at 16 degrees) joins retrograde Mercury to form a a aspect called a T Square.

What this means is that we can expect a lot of upheaval before transformation begins and the issues that came up in May when Pluto and Uranus squared each other at 11 degrees are being resolved now.

Cancer is a watery emotional planet that represents home, security and family. It is ruled by the moon so any moon event is going to trigger deep emotions. You may have to go deep into your feelings to release and renew. With Mercury in the mix and Jupiter is settling into its new home of Cancer for the next twelve months, this moon kick starts positive new energy and direction relating to family and domestic concerns.

The Cancer Moon conjuncts Mercury and opposes Pluto further indicating the transformation of a family situation through heartfelt communication.

16 is a number of spiritual transformation and awakening. 16 reduces to 7. This means lightning fast insights. With this vibration, it is critical you follow your hunches for it will always warn you of danger and unexpected changes.

By the full moon on July 22 (22 reduces to the number 4) at 00 degrees 44 seconds (44 reduces to 8), there will be 4 planets in Cancer. You may feel in crawling into a hole until this whole thing is over. But you do get some help from the easy going Grand Trine of Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune in water signs.

Water signs are very intuitive and imaginative so use your creativity. This will help ease the tension.
